PROGRAMS AND SERVICES

Community Leisure Access (CLA)

Leisure Links

This is a group social recreation program that is available to people who would like social interaction with others and assistance to connect with activities in the community. We offer this program in Owen Sound, Markdale, Hanover and Kincardine.

Mental Health Crisis Line of Grey & Bruce

The Mental Health Crisis Line of Grey & Bruce is a mental health telephone helpline to serve people in distress or crisis. It provides caring, non-judgmental support to all those seeking help and works towards empowering callers to seek solutions to the challenges they face. Service is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. The line is staffed by trained volunteers with professional supervision.

Public Education

As part of our mandate to increase the awareness of mental illness in our community we sponsor events like the Sunflower Fun Project for grade 2 students and annual Mental Health Week and Mental Illness Awareness Week events. Our goal is to dispel the myths and counteract the stigma that people with mental illness face every day.

F.A.N. (Friends and Neighbours) Club:

The F.A.N. Club is a puppeteering program designed to support, educate, prevent and increase awareness of mental health issues for children ages 3 through 11. The F.A.N. Club uses child-like hand and rod puppets to engage children in lively and thought provoking puppet shows which children can relate to.

Mental Health Court Support Services

Mental Health Court Support Services are available for persons with a serious mental illness who come into conflict with the law.  It is a free service to individuals 16 years or older.  Three services are offered through the Mental Health Court Support Services:
